Pedilanthus, now often classified as Euphorbia tithymaloides, is a succulent native to the Americas, popular as a houseplant known as Devil’s Backbone. It features thick, fleshy, zigzagging stems resembling a backbone with opposite, waxy leaves and bright red, showy bracts that function as flowers.
